USW/US Steel Career Development is a negotiated benefit for Union Employees at USS Midwest. There are always new and exciting activities for you to participate in at Career Development. Our curriculum consists of everything from basic skills to welding to computers to personal development classes. If there is something you have always wanted to learn, but may not have been able to in the past, stop in and see what we have to offer or check out our class catalog under the CLASSES tab. We hope this web-site will assist our students and help them to achieve their goals and keep their dreams alive.
We are “almost” open! Classes will begin the week of July 6th. These will be the classes that were supposed to run but were cancelled due to Covid-19. The new catalog classes will be out and starting in September. Please watch your emails and the web-site for more information.
A great big thank you to Mike And Dan and all of Career Development for allowing CEI and Sam to print much needed face masks on the 3D printer. CEI was contacted by United Way who will be delivering these to the hospitals. GREAT JOB EVERYONE! As you can see, we are still printing!!!!!
Please check with your instructor regarding inclement weather attendance. We are in the process of updating our Snow Day Policy.
The WILL MAKER class is a “must-take” for everyone. The program was so easy to follow and it gives you prompts to make sure you don’t forget even the smallest details. The RETIRE READY class is also fantastic. It should be a “mandatory” class for every steel worker. Rob Engel gives such an in depth easy-to-understand, compilation of information that ranges from Medicare Part A&B to how to know how much and “when” you can retire. Can you afford to retire now? When should I draw SS? Wonderful questions to start asking — No matter how old you are.
